The Underground Files were founded in late 1998 based on our love for underground music, which we present in this magazine. Although we mostly focus on true house music, we are in general interested in all music styles that are created not only by commercial means, but also love, feeling and spirituality. By adding such seriousness to music, music becomes quality and timeless. We believe that you can hear and feel the influences mentioned above in underground music, and that this music will excel you and your personality to higher levels.

It's not necessarily that money ruins the character, but unfortunately in most cases it does. The music business is full of examples from artists, who spoiled their music and the quality of their music due to commercial success. However, we believe that if you stick to your roots, you will be able to be successful without selling out to big record labels. This is another reason why we started this magazine; to expose the music of underground artists and to help them getting the respect they deserve.

Out of our own experience, we know that once exposed to underground music a lot of people become followers and lovers because they feel the power and excitement of this music. Music is not only the background sound of life, it is life by itself. It can give you feelings you can barely get somewhere else, feelings of love, pleasure and happiness. By providing these positive energies, we believe that underground music can change things, without weapons, armor or force. It will be a quiet revolution, which will happen in your mind and soul, but it will happen. And by doing so, it will change your personality!

And last but not least, underground music is the basis of popular music nowadays. Many music styles that are popular and highly profitable right now, like hip-hop, jungle, r'n'b or jazz, started in the underground and then arose from the underground. By focussing on underground music, you will be at the heartbeat of music, years before it sees the light of the day. It's that simple!
